Copper Sulfate:

Active ingredients by weight: 99% Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate 1% other ingredients.

Copper sulfate kills algae and many fish parasites on contact. It also will kill many
weeds that infest a pond. Uniform spraying of a water solution of copper sulfate will
guarantee that the copper sulfate spreads evenly across the pond. It is an inexpensive
treatment and easy to apply.

Directions:

When used for Pond Weeds:

Dissolve 2 Cups per Gallon Warm Water and Spray around edge of your pond. Weeds will start yellowing the next day.

PRECAUTION CONCERNING FISH:
The treatment of algae with Copper Sulfate can result in oxygen loss in the water from decomposition of dead algae. This can cause the fish to suffocate. Care should be taken when water temperature exceeds 85°F. At this water temperature, aquatic plants treated with copper sulfate decompose rapidly causing an increase in oxygen depletion. Therefore, to minimize this hazard, treat 1/3 to 1/2 of the water area in a single operation. Wait 7 to 14 days between treatments. Begin treatments along the shore and proceed outwards in bands to allow fish to move into untreated water.

As with all chemicals, copper sulfate should be handled with care.  Please follow handling instructions.
